Pham Thi Hai
Hai was born in Vietnam in 1965. She studied scenography and performance arts in Prague in DAMU from ’84-’90. While also having interned at AVU in Prague she taught scenography in Vietnam between ’90-’93.
Hai held a small variety of exhibitions from 2001 to 2004 twice in Hanoi, once in Hue and twice in Prague where after she worked on a production of Desire Under the Elms in Prague and Twelfth Night in Portland, Oregon.
Hai’s style expresses itself through her experience; from Vietnam to the Czech Republic she touches on an essential human narrative picked apart through an abstract lens. Her work is an outpour, a vision, a meditation which sought to reconcile the visual and the spiritual.
